infuture food lab
In vitro meat, flour made of insect, edible print – it’s all happening already! How will the food of the future look like? Visit the multimedia laboratory of the future: “infuture food lab” at the Gdynia Design Days 2017 design festival.
The “infuture food lab” project is an example of a successful interdisciplinary collaboration between two different research and business centres. In cooperation with the Department of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, infuture institute organised a competition for speculative design projects.
Based on the food, cultural, social and environmental trends developed by the infuture institute, ASP students designed food for the future. The competition required each project to be based in reality, and that visionary concepts had a scientific basis. The final of the competition is the exhibition of “infuture food lab” entries.
The project was carried out by the Experimental Design Laboratory and consulted with the microbiologist Adam Ossowicki of the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW).
The projects created in the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts are part of a substantive contribution to the report prepared by the infuture hatalska foresight institute – coming soon.
The exhibition is open on: 30.06.2017 – 09.07.2017 at the Gdynia Design Days festival.
On the 4th of July at 19:00 Natalia Hatalska will give a presentation entitled “Life after food (as we know it)”. After the presentation there will be an opportunity to visit the “infuture food lab” exhibition with the institute’s team and the curator of the exhibition, Marta Flisykowska, PhD (Department of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts).
